Folksy Friday – All you need is a good book

I love books and I recently recovered a few boxes of my childhood books. I’ve kept quite a few for my son even though they’re very dusty and musty and he probably won’t be the least bit interested, but I can’t bring myself to part with them. They hold a lovely childhood nostalgia and despite the yellowing rather crumbly pages they’re still wonderful to flick through. Imagine a world without books! As intriguing as technology can be, can you lose yourself in the same way with an electronic gadget? You can’t pick up a dog-eared gadget and find a ticket stub from a long forgotten film or a spine full of sand from a wonderful holiday. So for this Folksy Friday, I have found a group of items that have given old books a new lease of life in unexpected ways. They celebrate the beauty of the printed word in really imaginative ways.

I really like this set – particularly the corsage from Nellie and Elsie, it’s such a clever idea.
