This week’s Folksy Friday has been curated by Jill Robertson from The Create Place.
To celebrate National Craft Month The Create Place will be hosting a month of Friday evening craftoirées where you can book a two hour slot to enjoy our pop-up crafty café. Meet up with friends, organise a well overdue catch up, or celebrate a special occasion at our pop-up boutique café. Make as much or as little as you like, yarn and needles will be available for knitting, crochet or general experimentation. Help yourself to a mini craft pack so you can start and finish a mini project in one evening. All proceeds will go towards funding ‘The Work Room’ London’s first socially conscious sewing cafe.
The Create Place is project of St Margaret’s House, a charity committed to supporting the local community. Established in November 2011 The Create Place has become a hub for London’s best up and coming designers, by offering them the space to teach their skills and sell their work within the newly established collective shop. Through hosting regular workshops in everything from cupcake decorating to metal clay jewellery, The Create Place are a not-for-profit venture, using all proceeds to support their programme of free or heavily subsidised workshops which support the local community.
