Mollie Makes issue 2

For people who love the crafty life!

A guest post from Lyndsey Mayhew of Mollie MakesIssue 2 is out 9th June – Today!
Mollie Makes was born out of a love for living and loving handmade and being proud of it! Like Folksy sellers, to us it’s more than just a hobby, it’s in everything we do.

Long gone are the days when crafting was something we did on our own and didn’t really talk about. These days you can hardly shut us up! Whether we’re visiting a craft workshop, holding a crafternoon or posting our makes on Facebook or Twitter, we love sharing our projects with our friends.

We love that there is a whole world of beautiful blogs out there featuring some stunning photography and there’s nothing we like more than having a good nosy round. Mollie Makes is all about curating the very best of online in a print magazine and although we enjoy perusing online, nothing beats our love affair with print because we will never stop loving holding a beautiful magazine that you can pick up when and wherever you fancy

Mollie Makes is all about sharing our finds with the wider world, and on the cover of our first issue we were delighted to feature Folksy seller Sara Sinaguglia’s gorgeous apple cosies which went down an absolute storm! In issue 2 we are featuring a plethora of Folksy sellers including the gorgeous crocheted cleaning cloths from Scrubbitty and clever uses of vintage maps courtesy of Curious Things and A Magpie and a Dove.

100% organic cotton cloths

Editor Jane Toft says: “We fell head over heels for Sara’s apple cosies and what’s more we have been so pleased to see our readers success with them when they’ve posted photo’s on Facebook.

“We have had such wonderful feedback from the first issue and heard some fantastic stories how people have been inspired to pick up a crochet hook for the first time. Mollie Makes is all about encouraging an “I can do that” attitude, and in each issue we hope to give our readers not only inspiration but projects they will love to make.”

Each month alongside a great cover kit, we give readers a peek inside the homes of the world’s most creative crafters; inspiring projects to get your teeth into; round ups of the most covetable stash, and tours of the crafty capitals of the world.

It’s really exciting to see how many amazingly creative people there are in the blogosphere. We are always looking for unusual ideas, quirky projects and talented people to contribute, so if you think you fit the bill, just drop us a line.

Keep up to date with Mollie Makes news at www.molliemakes.com . Follow us on Facebook and on Twitter @MollieMakes

To have something that is individual and that is different from what you can buy in the high street. And to have something that you jnow time, effort and love has gone into making it.

  2. I love finding out all about how something was made, so that when I give it as a gift I can tell the recipient all about it and spread the craft love!

  3. I love buying handmade as I love getting the story behind the object and actually meeting the person who made the object is pretty cool too. Also it has become a way of life for me – I always look on Folksy first when buying gifts for people.

  4. I love buying handmade because each piece is individual and made with love and care, whenever I wear something handmade I always get asked where it is from.

  5. What I love about having something handmade is the fact that I know a lot of time, effort & love will have gone into making it. I love the fact it is a unique item that only I will have and the gift becomes even more special if you know a little bit about the person who made it and what drives their passion.

  6. What I love about buying homemade is the individuality of the item, not being mass produced you can be fairly sure that not every other person walking down the street is carrying/wearing the same thing as you. Also making things myself, I also know how much I enjoy creating things, so I know whatever handmade item I buy, I can be sure the creator has loved every process of making that item, from choosing fabric, choosing design, to producing the finished product…….there is something personal about having a handmade item :)

  7. Lucie Brown

Buying handmade makes the piece so much more individual & you know someone has put alot of time & care into each item :)

  8. I love buying handmade because you’re giving something which is unique and it’s been made with love, care and dedication. I love getting something handmade, it make’s me feel really special!

  9. That extra special touch, knowing that someone has put great care and work into something and it usually comes so beautifully wrapped. Makes a nice change from being shoved in a carrier bag.

  10. When you buy handmade you get a unique product, made with care by a real person. Everything I’ve bought from Folksy has been sent beautifully packaged with a handwritten note from the seller. This just makes the item extra special.

  11. what i love about buying handmade is how you can sure no-one was exploited in the production of your buy – upcycled, vintage AND handmade well that’s even better :D

  12. ladypennyjane

I love knowing I have something individual and buying direct from the maker I am helping someone’s crafty business dreams come true – even in A small way.

  13. Buying a handmade item directly from the maker means the world to the person at the other end. It boosts their self-esteem and shows them that people love what they create. Furthermore, sellers of handmade items truly care about their customers and will offer you a better service than any big business could ever do.

  14. I love knowing that there is a story to what I buy, whether it be at the point of fabric purchase, or when the machine decided to kick up a fuss or a stitch went wrong…thoughts and stories are in every one.

  15. I like buying Handmade because you never find anything else like it Its an individual piece of work that somebodies put their heart and soul into and when you are a hand maker you appreciate every customer xxxx

  16. Adele

There is always something special and unique about handmade. You know an individual has spent time and energy designing and then creating the piece, and you know you are dealing directly with that person, which gives the piece a personality.
Handmade – always made with love <3

  17. Buying handmade is buying something special, buying something that another person has lovingly made and put all their effort into. I love buying handmade because of the individuality of every item and the knowledge that someone out there is smiling because I’ve bought something they put their heart into.

  18. Tracy Roe

What love most about buying handmade is the fact that you’re helping a talented someone to make a living from the wonderful things that they create. Handmade products carry a little piece of their maker with them and I love the feeling that the things you buy have a story and personality behind them.

  19. pollypurplehorse

I love handmade, you can be sure you have purchased something unique, there’s no better thrill then seeing a smile on a recipients face when you give them something special as a gift :-)

  20. Stacey

Handmade means unique one of a kind and that’s why we buy it, make it because no one else will have one too. I like being different, I don’t want what everyone else has got I want my own unique things.

Handmade is more of a pleasure to sit and look at!

  21. helen wright

I love handmade cos each piece is different and special and put togeathet by loving hands.

  22. Rin

I’ve never liked mass market goods
    All stacked up to the rafters;
I’d rather buy my stuff handmade
    From independent crafters.
Their wares are much more personal
    Unique and full of vision;
Such treasures are an obvious choice
    It’s not a tough decision!

  23. I love buying handmade because you know that someone has really put some love into what they’ve made. You’re buying something that was loved and cared about whilst it was being created, and at the same time you know you’re being truly valued as a customer.

  24. Handmade is: individual, different, quirky, original, usually a good choice environmentally, better quality, well designed, better value for money, makes a difference to the maker as well as to the buyer, *and* makes a difference to the world.

It’s the future – the way to go.

  25. I love the uniqueness you can often get with handmade. How else could I get a girlie hand embroidered SHARK purse for a very girlie but shark obsessed friend of mine!
    Good luck everyone xxx

  26. bex

What a generous giveaway! ive been trying to find mollymakes in my local w h smith but they dont have it!
i love buying handmade because i think its great knowing that no one else will be wearing the same necklace as you or the using the same purse.
i also like handmade because you have a more direct relationship with the person that made it.

  27. I buy handmade for gifts, because I know no-one else will have bought my friend that gift, and because I know that so much love and hard work will have gone into it. I think buying a handmade gift makes the recipient feel special and as if it’s been made especially for them, because it is so individual and unique :)

  28. I love to know all teh time and care that has gone into making something – and that it is unique or very nearly so.

  29. The thing I love about buying handmade is that you can guarantee that those are the things that others will admire and comment on, as they really stand out as not being mass produced.

  30. Nicola

To have bought something beautiful, individual and well-made that supports artists and crafters

  31. Helen

Buying handmade is buying a mini work of art each time. It allows me to buy something tailored perfectly to my tastes or to the recipient’s taste.

  32. To buy handmade is to help support local businesses, to support fellow crafters and to give that special unique something that isn’t mass produced, that someone has taken the time to lovingly make and to perfect.

  33. Ruth

I love buying handmade because of the personality and quirkiness that is part of every purchase. Handmade items have got soul!

  34. My favourite part of buying handmade is meeting the maker and talking to them about how the item was made. Love supporting the handmade community!

  35. Ana Goncalves

I love buying handmade because it is about finding something that is unique and produced by the artist with tender loving care. I can always find a gift for everyone, as there is always something that matches one’s personality.

  36. I love buying handmade because I love imagining the person sitting their in their house, or flat, or boat (!) and making it. I also love encouraging other people to buy handmade things & showing them it’s not just “homemade” but items that are made to even higher standards than mass produced things.

  37. I love buying handmade because I know that I’m getting something original that has been made with love. As a maker myself, I also like to support other crafts people so that we can compete with mass production. I encourage everyone to buy handmade.

  38. Just because handmade things are extra special!! They mean so much more because of the time and thought that has gone into the designing and making.

  39. Kay

Handmade items contain the love and care the makers put into them which shows in the result. When I have something lovely in my home looking at it makes me conjure up stories of people working away in interesting places and studios surrounded by their materials, with a big grin on their face…

  40. Caroline

I love to support individual makers like myself and choose something that hasn’t been mass produced.

  41. I buy handmade because I am a sucker for something quirky and one of a kind. As a full time designer maker myself I know just how much thought and hardwork has gone into handmade pieces. Perhaps making me appreciate them even more.

  42. I love buying handmade items because it makes you feel special knowing you have something unique that was created with care & love. I also love buying handmade items for gifts, spreading the joy of crafts!

  43. I love to buy handmade because it supports an indie business and an individual. Buying form the mass market only squashes the hand made with support to the oligopoly. Besides handmade things are always that much lovelier!

  44. I’m entering this with the hope of winning the subscription for my wife. If I knew as much love & passion had gone into a handmade item as much as the love & passion my wife puts into the things she makes then I would want to buy handmade. My wife recently got together with a group of friends, all Mums, who have various crafty talents & now they make things for each other & teach each other new crafts in exchange for other gifts or help such as gardening, massages etc. I think it’s a great way to learn new things & a great thing for the community too.

  45. When you buy handmade you know that you’re getting something that someone has put time, effort and love into rather than something a machine has made by the thousands. Theres something wonderfully personal about it :)

  46. The joy of buying something that is unique and beautifully crafted with love…..the story behind the item and the maker….the knowledge that you are supporting small businesses, that you have an opportunity to get to know the maker,to even have something custom made especially for you by a very talented crafter…..some of the reasons I love buying handmade.

  47. I love that handmade means that the craft made is always unique to the creator. Not matter how many people you find making jewellery/cards/knitwear etc they all have passion for what they do and their own inspirations for what they make.

Buying handmade also mean that you can get that unique gift or you are even able to commission a one of a kind piece! No where else than a handmade shop will I find the passion for and enjoyment of what they offer.

  48. Buying handmade is great as not only is it a brilliant way to purchase something truly original, it also allows you to buy something which has been crafted with love.

A crafters passion for their work always shows in the end result and being able to have these made-with-love creations dotted about my house means a happy home! :)

  49. Victoria wilkins

I love the thought of hand made items having a sense of history. From the creativity of the person who made and designed a piece of work to the journey it makes as it is given or bought and then enjoyed or loved by someone else. A crocheted Blaket for example which has been lovingly made and given to a child and then passed on to their children is why I feel hand crafts should always continue.

  50. What I love about buying handmade is that I know I’m going to have something unique! I love standing out and I love one-of-a-kinds, so handmade is perfect for me! :)

  51. Colette

Ever since I was a little girl my Grandma wouldn’t accept a birthday/christmas/mothers day present if it wasn’t handmade. She would say that it wouldn’t have any thought in it (harsh I know) so since then, I have bought or made presents which have been handmade. It is not just the time spent making the item, but the materials used and the iniative used to make such special items. Atleast with buying handmade, you know that you won’t be able to find a million copies in new look, topshop etc.

You always appreciate the sentimental handmade items that you buy, they give you a sense of the person that made it and they somewhere knew that it would be right for someone out there. There is always a handmade gift that is made for someone!

Also, when buying handmade, you are not giving to a huge company that your few pounds will make a huge difference to, but with handmade, the business appreciate every item you spend your money on.

    Keep buying handmade!

    Colette

  52. Clare

I love to buy handmade as each item has been individually produced and lovingly made, and therefore is unique to itself – not like mass produced manufactured goods. I also love the finishing touches and the quality of handmade.

  53. Lilian

Modern living puts so much emphasis on the destination, but sometimes it’s the journey that gives the most joy. I love handmade because it is a celebration of the journey :)

  54. Jude

I love knowing that as much enjoyment has gone into creating an item as I will get from owning it or gifting it.

  55. Yvonne Izard

I love being able to custom make things to the way I want them, so they become unique and individual. I also really enjoy the process itself. Plus its a fantastic lift when someone says ‘Did you make that? Wow!’

  56. I love buying something handmade because you are buying something which the designer/maker has loving created and invested a part of themselves in the process. There’s nothing better than giving a handmade gift, its so much more personal and thoughtful than something you could just get on the high street.

  57. I am totally passionate about the things I make myself and so handmade has become a livestyle choice for me wherever possible. I try hard to be ethical in choosing fabrics, beads, buttons for my items; using vintage and recycled where possibleand I look for makers who fit into these categories, knowing that their work is made with passion and care. This is so important to me I now run a monthly handmade market with another folksy seller, in order to give more people the opportunity to buy & sell individual handmade items.

  58. Jenna Piper

To know that someone has put time and commitment into making that special little something, created with love, with the assurance that it will be unique and timeless.

  59. Alison MacPherson

I love buying handmade as you get something different from the homogenous”stuff” you find in large stores, something with care and love and creativity in it.

  60. The whole process of buying handmade is such a pleasure. I love the choosing part and also knowing that I can talk directly to the maker if I have a special request. It’s so refreshing to be able to buy unique work accompanied by personal service.

  61. It’s just amazing to own something that someone has made with love, something they have enjoyed making. I just love telling people the stories behind the stuff I’ve bought and made it makes the items special and buying handmade often feels like you’ve received a gift; even though you paid for it.

  62. Kez Heath

I love buying handmade because in doing so as you are supporting traditional craft rather than mass production and getting usually a better quality product that is unique and creative.

  63. Emma Gwilliam

To buy handmade is to show appreciation of someones work, to recognize the love, care, attention, time and detail that someone has put into their work, Buying handmade is to know you have something special, original and unique! It will be cared for more over mass produced items because it can never replaced!!!

  64. Nothing feels better than buying handmade – a one off piece that means an artist or craftsperson can live a creative life and make a living by enriching the rest of our lives – hurrah!

  65. Stephanie

I love buying handmade because I know the maker has enjoyed choosing and buying the yarn, material, beads or whatever has been used to make the item, then enjoyed making the item and thenenjoyed someone else buying and passing on the joy.

I know I love buying my beads, making the piece of jewellery and then when someone likes it enough to buy it I know I am thrilled and the love for handmade continues.

    Stephanie

  66. The Felt Works

I love buying handmade as I know that it’s unique and has been made with skill, care and attention to detail.

  67. I love the unique idea of handmade, I love that the person I’ve purchased or made the gift for knows I went out of my way to find this and knew it was for them instantly x

  68. What’s not to love?!

I love having things that are beautifully made and different to all the mass produced stuff on the high street. It’s so good to know that I can support someone else who does what they love for a living. It’s a win win situation!

  69. Lisa

The love and care that goes into something handmade is so indescribable. Time and devotion that goes into something that can’t be done by just anyone, we don’t all have the talent to create from virtually nothing.
Wearing something hand made makes me feel special, to know someone took pains to make something special for little ol’ me….. :o)

  70. Claire

Time is precious: once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. When you buy handmade, you buy a little bit of someone’s precious time which has been devoted to making something just for you.

  71. The thing I love about buying handmade that a lot of care, love and attention has gone into the finished product. You also know that not everyone ion the whole planet will have the same item as you. You can build relationships from buying things handmade and help small businesses grow!

  72. My favourite thing about buying handmade is that what you are getting is totally unique and quirky. I love that it might be a tiny bit wonky with the odd missed stitch or extra brush stroke – it proves it was made lovingly by hand and not by a machine!!

  73. I love handmade as there’s love and care that’s gone into that piece and hard work too. It makes a gift more unique and I think the recipients appreciate them more. It’s often more quirky and if you’ve got a really nice vendor (see masochist!) they may even customise something for you!

  74. I love to buy handmade and to feel the love a passion put into that object. To feel when someone elses hands touched it not where it was passed down a conveyorbelt or through hundrends of different machines and stranggled in plastic wrapping. Handmade items make use of the objects around us as materails not go sourcing everything from chep factorys abroad.
But most of all I love the fact that you know it made somebody happy to make that item and you are happy to buy it … what more could you want?

  75. I love buying handmade items because I get something unique, that’s been made by someone for whom crafting is a passion.

I know that the person who made it wasn’t working under awful conditions (like in a factory), and because they set the price of their products, they (hopefully!) get a fair price for their creations and will go on being able to produce more lovely work!

  76. I love buying handmade, because you get an item that few other people will have, made with great care and often great value for the amount of work that has gone into it. My friends always ask where I found their presents, and, of course, I say ‘Folksy’ ;o)

  77. sonya

Handmade is the epitomy of he-ART and SEW- l. (heart and soul… get it) Crafty use of words?? :)

  78. I love the thought of the time and effort that went into making the crafted item. So much nicer than something mass produced.

  79. I love anything handmade… from cards and candles to brightly coloured bunting…
I love personalising my home with handmade items to give it a cosy and unique look…

  80. I love handmade because of its uniqueness and that no one else will have another quite the same. I also like the fact that something handmade has a little bit of the person who created it lovingly wrapped up inside!

  81. Jessica

I love feeling a connection with the person who made it. It’s so much more special than buying something from a huge, faceless corporation.

  82. i think handmade gives objects so much more meaning and worth. Its one a kind and you feel special knowing that you have something unique that no one else does

  83. Since I am a “handmaker” I love the things others made dearly. I know the though, time and pleasures that they experience. I love to share my “handmakin’s”

  84. Elisa Esteve

I love that no two items are the same, the individuality and above all the care and love that has gone into each item.

  85. laura dean

Handmade seems to lift my heart like no other. I love its uniqueness and seems more expressive than anything that is mass produced. When its handmade you appreciate the skill and time involved. Its all looks so beautiful and fun and makes me feel all creative!

  86. Liz

I love buying handmade as each piece has a little piece of it’s creator in there which gives the piece a lovely energy.

  87. I love knowing that a large percentage of what I’m paying for an original and beautifully made item is going directly to the person who made it! And that I’m making someone else happy by giving them a unique gift.

  88. The reasons are many! It’s celebrating the craft and the creativity of someone else when you buy their handmade product and I love being able to do that.

  89. Sam

I love the uniqueness of the item and the high quality. Plus they are usually wrapped up so prettily. Fighting back against the big commercial giants too makes me happy.

  90. I love buying handmade because it offers something unique in a world of replication. You know that thought and care and often love have gone into the creation of something special. Something that has been and will be treasured by maker and recipient alike.

  91. Namik

I love to buy and support handmade because the items are so much more personal as someone has put a lot of their time and effort into creating something unique.

  92. Sarah

I love that each item which is handmade is totally unique. Even if the maker made ten, they are each individual and no one would have one exactly the same!

  93. Shohreh

I just love handmade products because they are individual and a lot of thought has gone into them.

  94. Michelle

    I LOVE buying handmade items!
They are always unique and beautifully made!!
Whether it’s a gift for a friend or a treat for myself,
It’s always special buying something made with love!

  95. Sarah

To me, the best aspect of any handmade item is it’s individuality- no two of the same product are ever the same! In a world that is becoming more and more dominated by large commercial companies, it is comforting to know that there are traders out there who take pride in what they produce.

  96. Judith

    Hi
For me the thing about buying handmade is that you know it has been crafted with LOVE. Someone has put time and effort into creating something they love for us to also love.
I just subbed to your magazine having got issue 2, sadly missing out on issue 1. Congratulations on a fantastic publication. x

  97. Ali

I love buying anything handmade as the time and care that has gone into the making makes it feel so much more special. You know it is unique to the creator and this is what makes it even more desirable to me.

  98. Helen

It is very satisfying to see/wear something you have spent time and effort making. It is even better when people admire it and you can tell them they can’t buy it anywhere but maybe offer to make them one!

  99. Jenny

I love knowing that something is unique when it’s handmade – It’s the only one of its kind! Not to be found on the High Street.

  100. dawn bevins

I love handmade because it has a bit of soul, there is always a real story, and a real person behind it. It is nice to be able to have individual items, that are not cloned on every high street throughout the land :)

  101. I love how buying handmade things seems to inspire even the less creative amongst us. The fact of buying a one off, knowing it’s been made taking time and care – and using hands rather than huge factory machines – makes it all the sweeter. Plus the feeling you get when someone comments on that handmade item, and knowing it’s admired and not all and sundry are able to buy on the high street is priceless!

  102. It’s all about having something unique and that someone else has taken a lot of thought and consideration to make it. You also get to learn how things are made and sometimes constructed.
Handmade things are often a lot nicer, cuter, awesomer (if that’s a word) than the mass produced items out there.

  103. kiki pearson

i don’t want to buy it…i want to MAKE it!!! the world of handmade is a world of inspiration and skill and therein lies my love for it.

  104. katy

I love buying handmade and making handmade items as you stand out from the crowd, support local crafts people and business, attract compliments and feel special sporting something out of the norm
    xx

  105. Bernice

I love buying handmade, as items are individual, no two items will have exactly the same stitch in the same place. Handmade items are often quirky and usually a better quality than a mass produced item. There is also a sense of love with a handmade item.

  106. Lauren Bevan

I like knowing that it was not made in a factory by children or people for a few pennies a day. I love the idea that someone enjoyed the creative moment which grew into their design idea for the item, that one moment in time the inspiration hit them, they would have felt so excited, the excitement growing as they worked on their idea watching it grow into their final finished piece. The nervousness as they wondered who was going to like it enough to buy it just before someone came along and fell in love with the creators vision. I love handmade not just for the final piece but for the journey it as been on.

  107. Charlie Lockwood

I love the fact that someone has taken time to choose and craft and love their homemade items, making each one special and unique. I especially love when people use upcycled items, or make dull everyday things beautiful :)

  108. I love buying handmade because of the passion behind the creation. Generally it’s unique and the quality is superior to non handmade items.

  109. Maria

I love handmade because every piece is unique and has a story behind it. I like to make handmade goods myself, so I know how much time and love you invert to make something special that makes someone else very happy!

  110. Cheryl

Handmade goodies are unique, beautiful and made with love. They connect us to our past traditions and to stimulate our imaginations about what else is possible in the future. <3

  111. Claire Kemp

Something handmade is always individual, always unique and almost always costs less than the hours of love and attention the maker has put it to producing it :O)

  112. Amanda

I love buying handmade because I know that just as much pleasure has gone into the making as I am getting from the purchasing. The thought about details, little tweaks and quirks of each item, the use of different fabrics – new or vintage – all make handmade extra special and unique.

  113. I LOVE buying handmade for so many reasons:

    * It will be unique. Even if it has been made from a pattern it will have at least a stitch different to the rest!

    * It will be gorgeous. Handmade items have usually been dreamed up by one person – not a boardroom full of people.

    * I will be buying from a local or small business.

  114. dianne killeen

I dont!!! I make them myself, I just love to make beautiful things— knowing there is no other like them.

  115. lou

I love to buy and make hand made, it is a joy to purchase or be given something made with care and attention and passion. I treasure the things I have been given and I hope that the handmade gifts I give show how much I care

  116. We love buying handmade because of the work and love that’s gone into each item :) They are always a one-off and it’s hard to get genuine originality these days – but not so tricky with handmade! By buying handmade you are supporting the individual or individuals that are working to make something beautiful with a skill that they cherish and share. We love handmade :)

  117. Jo D-M

I love to support fellow crafters and artists. It’s also lovely to know that someone has put time an effort into making something original and unique. Handmade items have do much more character too.

  118. Eva Leffef

I love the love that’s put into it! You can see and feel that! I love to buy things that I would love to have made myself but don’t because I don’t have the time or skills to.

  119. Buying handmade means that you have something individual – little stitches, details that don’t appear in mass produced items. Every one is unique as love and labour have gone into the making of it.

  120. I love buying handmade because you are buying somebodies skill and supporting independent artists. Not only that but who wants something mass produced when you can have something beautifully one-off?

I love buying handmade for a lot of reasons but mainly because I love making things and believe in supporting others who feel the same.
and also because they are always way cuter than mass-produced!

Handmade items show real thought about the gift and recipient. Items are as unique as the recipient.

I love buying (and making) unique gifts for family and friends and also like to support small business here on Folksy and locally too.

I love to buy handmade as you know someone has put love and attention into creating the handcrafted item. I know from my own creating that it brings you a sense of pride making something and then have someone else value it enough to purchase it.

I love to buy handmade items. They are unique and carry a little bit of the individual who made them with such loving care.

I love so many things about buying handmade..I love to see the handicraft & beautiful work of others and how their passion shines through in their creation; I love the chance to buy unique & original gifts; I love how it feels more personal than buying something from a large company; I love knowing that another crafty individual has enjoyed the creative process that goes into making it; I love to feel that I am purchasing from a more ethical resource than many factory producers; I love the personal touches many fab sellers add to their purchases or purchase notes..and oh so much more! :-)

  127. I love buying handmade items as you and just about feel the love that has gone into creating the item when receiving it :-) Where else would you buy an item and it would arrive in gorgeous tissue paper with a lovely little note attached to it. Also with handmade items are unique rather than factory made , so much nicer.

Please pop me into you lovely giveaway :-)

With something handmade there’s a chance for the maker to show their emotions, passion and desire for each individual object making every one of them unique.

I love buying handmade because you will never get the same quality, uniqueness or level of thought and love on the high street…also it’s sustainable and I like to be green when I can :)

  130. Handmade is special. The item has a story, a history, a background. Every stitch, every bead, every piece of glue has been put there by a wonderful person who cares that the object is perfectly finished. There is no comparison to a handmade object. However the item looks – even if it’s been made by a 3 year old – it is perfect!

I love buying handmade products because of the love and effort put into each individual piece. I also love the individual quirks and variations that make each piece special.
