Free Listings (Friday 2nd December)

Yippee. Free listings today from 9am until 9pm.

In order that everyone can take advantage of this offer please only list one item at a time (rather than trying to do lots simultaneously). We’ve cranked up the servers so the process should be smooth, however if it does take a little longer to list it may be because lots of others are doing the same thing. The buying experience should be unaffected by the extra listing activity so people can browse and buy your lovely new work.

Enjoy.

UPDATE
12:05
We’re seeing unprecedented demand for listing. This is causing aspects of the site to slow down, however we’re working on speeding things up. People can still browse and buy from the site.

The forums are slow (and we are taking these down at busy periods) but they are served up separately and unrelated to performance of the main site.

12:25
We’ve limited listings to 5 per 30 minute period to aid overall site performance. Thank you for being patient.

15:00
We’ve worked to diagnose and remedy the earlier problems with slow listings and general slow performance and the site is now working well. Apologies to some of you who experienced problems listing earlier.

17:30
Due to the issue we experienced earlier today we have decided to continue the free listings until 9am tomorrow (Sat 3rd) by way of an apology to all those eager designers and makers who tried and failed to list this morning.

I’ve successfully listed lots of new pieces into my Folksy Shop – all very smoothly – many thanks.

Free listing day is much appreciated.
