Star embroidery hoop tutorial

Embroidery hoops make really nice craft projects – they’re great for all levels of makers, as you can start with a simple design and then add more detail and advanced stitches as you become more skilled… plus you can sit and make them on your lap with a lovely cup of tea by your side.

Textile designer and Folksy maker Teresa Bettelly from Shirley Rainbow has designed a gorgeous embroidery hoop tutorial inspired by clear night skies and Japanese Sashiko style stitching. This project is a clever way to use up a piece of your favourite fabric and any special beads or sequins you might have saved in your stash of crafty bits.
