So, this proved to be a bit more difficult to assess than I thought as we had a lot of ‘dubious’ comments. Having checked the IP addresses for the comments we’ve only counted one comment per IP address. This is not foolproof but it’s the best way we could manage the process and to make sure we didn’t get multiple ‘votes’ from the same person. We need to get a better way to manage these comps! Any ideas?

Anyway, the winner of the Robson and Mason Haberdashery voucher is … well actually it’s a tie between Daisie’s boob and
NiftyKnits’ Clanger:

Nifty’s Morris Dancer was third and Lupin’s sampler fourth. Thank you all so much for taking part. Hope you enjoyed it. Was it good? Shall we do it again?

Hey, so we have a winner to the Angels competition. You’ve probably counted them all and know this anyway, but in reverse order (from 3) we have:

THIRD with 37 votes is Lupin with her star (Lupin’s blog post about the story of making the star is well worth a read)

SECOND with 39 votes we have Daisie Davies and her ice skates

And the WINNER with a staggering 92 votes is NiftyKnits with her wind chime….

So, NiftyKnits gets Folksy free for a year – looking forward to seeing lots of her work on the site.

What next? We’ll be printing out the images from the competition to sell as Christmas Cards on the site. The cards will be produced at cost (we’re looking at different options and are trying to use recycled card) for people to buy and will link back to the blog post with all of your details on (so you all get attribution). If you don’t want your image to be used please email us ASAP.

Thank you *so* much to everyone who voted and more importantly to all those who made something and went to so much effort to take part. Thank you. We’ll be posting another competition soon but in the meantime we’d love your feedback on what competitions you’d like to see us run… please put your thoughts in the comments.

This may also be a good opportunity to say thank you to the We Make people and we hope you have a great fair this Saturday at 79a Tottenham Court Road in the American Church in London.

So, the lines have closed and the stars have been counted. Down at the Howies store in Carnaby Street, our helpers have been busy packing away the wonderful items from our Howies competition. I wish I could say that I had an envelope in front of me with the winner’s name in it, but truth be told, the name was actually just whispered down the phone to me a moment ago.

So without further ado, the winner is…

…the She’s Got Bottle! Apron from iris+lily handmade.

Congratulations from everyone here at Folksy – we think it’s a deserved winner. We especially like the fact that the material has been inventively recycled from a cotton twill curtain!

We’ll be in contact with the winner and everyone who had a shortlisted item shortly to give you your prizes, and the items will be returned to you just as soon as we’ve negotiated the Post Office obstacle course queues.

And don’t forget, once the items are returned, they’ll be available for sale from early next week (provided the makers don’t decide to keep them for themselves!). So if any of the items take your fancy, get ready to snap it up before someone else does!
