FEATURED SUPPLIER! – Spinster’s Emporium
Donna of Spinster’s Emporium sells a fun & funky range of vintage fabrics in her Folksy shop. There are single pieces of cloth, as well as thoughtfully selected packs of co-ordinating fabrics. This means that all the hard work of selecting vintage material to sew with has been done for you. She’s also got some fabulous trims & sets of buttons (and gorgeous vintage wallpaper too), so it’s well worth a browse round, if you’re interested in something a bit different & eco-friendly too.
Donna is a graduate in Fashion Knitwear Design & Knitted Textiles from Nottingham Trent University and teaches on a Fashion and Textiles A-Level course. She works from her studio in Nottingham, where she also has a shop & runs regular textile workshops. “The products I sell are all specialist and vintage, you will find no run of the mill here. I began Spinster’s Emporium because I always found it really difficult to source pretty, yummy, printed and vintage fabrics, haberdashery and (being a knitter) lovely yarns. Through the online store, blog, events and exhibitions, it is my intention to be more than a shop, I hope to encourage other people to become creative too.”
