A selection of British themed items

Hello! April is a busy month for most of us as Easter is almost here, this means that there are plenty of Easter related gifts to choose from on Folksy and we’ll be featuring our usual tops picks as part of the blog gift guides.  Easter break is just around the corner and this month the UK has a bonus bank holiday due to the Royal Wedding on the 29th April.  A lot of our Folksy sellers have been busy listing British themed items in anticipation of the event as well as some William and Kate commemorative items, others have been going wedding crazy and adding items for that perfect special day.  From all of us at Folksy, have a great Easter and a lovely relaxing bank holiday weekend.

March 2011

  • March orders were up 10% from February, that’s a 62% increase on March 2010.
  • We had visits from 320,744 different people, this is an increase of 131 % on March 2010 and an increase of 7% from February 2011.
  • 235,203 visits came through internet searches, 32% of those visits came from people searching for the word ‘folksy’.
  • Congratulations to Pants and Paper, Buttercup Boutique, Hatastic and Cassia Beck who were our most visited shops.

Copyright

We’ve added some helpful information to the Knowledge Base which will make Folksy’s policy on copyright clearer as well as providing a list of websites providing advice about copyright issues.  We’ve also detailed a few known copyright infringements from companies who have been in touch with Folksy.

Easter Gift Guide

We’re now weeks away from Easter which means that the Easter Gift Guide button will be appearing on the site shortly.  Please tag your items with the word ‘Easter’ to be included in the guide.  Hilary will also be posting her regular seasonal gift guides on the blog soon.

Forums

At the beginning of the year we introduced the Fancy a Cuppa forum for a trial period. We know many of you all love to chat about all sorts and not just craft so it seemed appropriate to create somewhere for this to happen and allow the ‘Chittah Chattah’ forum to be for craft chat only. It’s been a great success, it’s well used and a very friendly happy forum – so it’s now out of the trial and a permanent fixture at Folksy.

How are we doing?

We’d like to know if this sort of update is useful, so do give us your feedback on how we could improve. See you next month!

Thank-you for all your hard work!

I find the updates really interesting, especially the data analysis stuff, and always find a gem that I didn’t know about – like the knowledge base and copyright info in this month’s update.

So please do keep producing them. It is lovely to hear how the ‘family’ is growing and about future plans,

Sarah.

Love reading the updates. Glad to see the figures still rising. Onwards and upwards for us all :)

I have literally just joined Folksy about 10 mins ago. I really like the way you keep your members informed about how Folksy is doing and what the market on here is like at the moment. It seems to be a very friendly place to be.

I am going to open up my own shop on here hopefully in the next week but first I will read into all the hints and tips for setting up that you have.

I hope I will become part of the Folksy family soon!

Happy crafting :-)
