Sun, sea and sand
With today being the 1st of July, the evenings being light and bright, the weather getting warmer, or maybe even your hay-fever starting to play havoc, it’s hard to ignore the fact that summer is here! So why not celebrate this Folksy Friday with the things that remind us of summer! The thing that I most enjoy about summer is the feeling of warm sand beneath my toes as you race to eat the ice cream before it melts and makes the cone fall apart. What’s your favourite summer feeling? The wonderful pieces that I have chosen represent aspects of all those things that might remind us of summer. But of course, these are only six items out of a whole range of things that can inspire fond summer memories of sun, sea and sand. Why not take a few moments to look for yourself and get into that feel good summer mood?

“I come from a line of crafty and thrifty women, but up until a few years ago my mother and grandmother had all but given up hope that they’d passed those genes along to me! However, that changed when I discovered a love for creating jewellery. At first it was just little bits and pieces for me to wear and to give as presents to friends, but slowly it grew as friends and family members asked me to make special pieces for them and then I decided to try my luck at the big bad world of online selling. The jewellery I produce is mostly from beads of all shapes, sizes, and colours, but I like to try my hand at a little bit of everything. The name Prestobeads comes from my mother’s maiden name Preston as an homage to the talented women who gave me the artistic flair and a love of creating beautiful things. There are many different and lovely pieces of jewellery in my shop that you’re bound to find a perfect item for yourself, or a gift for someone you know! ”

And the sun is shining-perfect :)
Dusting off the kid’s body-boards, finding my beach bag, sunglasses and a good book to read – summer has arrived!
