Guest Login is released

We just released the Guest Login work. This is quite a significant piece of work as it means people do not have to register to buy on Folksy and should lead to higher conversions (more people intending to buy, actually buying).

What does this mean for designer-makers?
As we announced in our previous post Helping Sellers With Legal Compliance, your contact email address is now passed to the buyer so as to comply with EU Distance Selling Regulations. Shortly your full address will also be included in the email and both the email and postal address will soon be on the order page for buyers to see too.

If you sell on Folksy you need to make sure your full postal address is up-to-date so you are complying with UK law. You can input or edit your address in “Edit Shop Appearance and Settings” via your Folksy dashboard.

I have a question – will it be possible for us to tell which of our buyers are using guest logins? It isn’t essential and I’m sure you’ll let us know what proportion of visitors are taking up the option, but I’m interested to see what effect it has on my shop!

Sure, we’ll report back on the impact it’s had in a couple of weeks – we need to give it some time to see what pattern emerges.
