The MADE Festival is held in our hometown of Sheffield, and every year budding entrepreneurs gather to learn the secrets of success from those who have made it. One of the highlights of this year’s programme is The Creative Entrepreneurs Fringe Festival on Friday 26 September, designed specifically for aspiring, early-stage and established creative entrepreneurs.
The day at the Creative Fringe will include a talk by the incredibly knowledgable and inspiring Doug Richard – original Dragon’s Den panelist, School for Creative Startups founder and Folksy business mentor (surely top of his CV) – followed by a business surgery forum, where designers and makers can get specific advice for their business. There are also plans afoot for mini pop-up boutiques, where creative businesses can show off their wares, plus a chance to meet and talk to fellow creative people, in a non-scary, non-corporate kind of place where the word ‘networking’ can only be heard in faint whispers.
Win tickets to the festival
We’ve got 20 pairs of tickets to The Creative Entrepreneurs Fringe Festival @ MADE to give away! That’s not just 20 tickets, but 20 pairs, so if you win you can even bring along a friend. For your chance to win, just leave a comment at the bottom of this blog post or send an email to email@example.com with the subject line ‘Take me to the Fringe’. The competition closes at midnight this Friday (19 September) and winners will be informed as soon as possible after the closing date.
Show your stuff
The organisers of fringe festival are looking for designers and makers to dress the event and sell their work in mini pop-up shops. Stalls are free and there will be a community of 400 creatives in one room, so if you want to see Doug sitting on one of your chairs, propped up on one of your cushions, or sampling your handmade treats, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you’d like to bring or do.
