Star on Kirstie Allsopp’s Christmas
Kirstie Allsopp is looking for the most talented crafters in the country to compete over the fabled Christmas crafting crown 2016. Could this be you? Entries are now open and this year there are six categories:
1. Kirstie Allsopp’s best Christmas tree competition
Is your Christmas tree always the talk of the town? Do carol singers linger a little longer at your window? Are you on top of the latest in tree trends? If you can decorate a tree with festive flair, this is the category for you.
2. Best handmade Christmas decoration
Do you make your own Christmas decorations? Are your baubles beautiful and your stockings stunning? Kirstie is looking for talented tinsel designers and makers who can create gorgeous, original decorations.
3. Best handmade Christmas toy
Is your studio home to magical scenes straight out of The Nutcracker? Do children rush to open your Christmas presents first? Could you be a contender for the best handmade Christmas toy crown?
4. Best decorated Christmas cake
This year Kirstie is looking for Christmas cakes decorated on the theme of ‘A Great British Christmas’. So if your icing is inspired and your sugar craft is second to none, it’s time to show off those skills.
5. Best Christmas floral art
Are your centrepieces swoon-worthy, your wreaths wonderful and your garlands gorgeous? Kirstie is looking for the best Christmas centrepieces, wreaths, garlands and floral displays for this new category.
6. Best gingerbread house
Kirstie is looking for magnificent, original and surprising gingerbread houses – an architectural delight made of spiced dough! Your gingerbread house will need to be at least 30cm, and you’ll need to build it in advance and the decorate it on the day.
