#folksyfriday – Folksy in Blue by The Cornish Coaster Company

For this week’s Folksy Friday I’d like to share my love of blue. For me, blue is calming and relaxing. The variety of shades each evoke happy memories of time gone by. Here are some of my favourite blue hues on Folksy.

I stumbled upon this beautiful thimble necklace by Joanna Wakefield and immediately fell in love. The thimble was found in France and restored by the designer. I love the thought of the thimble having a previous life and that it’s now been repurposed.

Who doesn’t find cow parsley swaying in the breeze relaxing? This bag by Charlotte Macey has a lovely cow parsley print and is perfect for carrying your favourite book on warm summer’s day.

This ceramic coaster by Wiktorski Ceramics is a one-off piece of contemporary art, which is beautiful and practical too… plus I am slightly crazy about coasters.

This oil painting by I.V. Art Studios is calming and serene art that brings back memories of family camping trips and happy times.

Wow… I’m in awe of Miesje Chafer – such a talented designer. Hand screen printing is a craft I wish I had studied. The combination of patterns and textures interests me and I love the original and unique design of these cushions!

Cornish Coaster Company, Cornish coastersEmma is the maker behind The Cornish Coaster Company. She creates delicately hand crafted beautiful fabric coasters, designed to add a bit of fun to your home. The designs for her coasters are appliquéd on 100% cotton or linen fabric using free motion machine embroidery, which allows Emma to draw freehand with the needle and thread on her sewing machine (her favourite way to sew).
