Linoprints come to life
Folksy Friday Film no. 5 is a moving art gallery showing three lino prints come to life. Leanne Warren and Yas Bowley have animated printmaker Melanie Wickham’s playful birds and golden hares, alongside Elly Rowbotham’s sunset-lit fishing boat from her original lino print ‘Darker Cloud’, keeping them as true to the original style, line and texture as possible.
Watch it here or on YouTube…
The birds dodge storm clouds, swoop over calmer seas in Elly’s Cornish seascape and fly over Mel’s leaping hares, while Yas Bowley produced a brilliant animation used in the credits, showing the Folksy logo getting carved, inked and printed in lino. Steve Warren has written the music, inspired nature and delivered on his favourite ukulele again, which is now available to stream on Spotify – click here to listen and subscribe on Spotify.
