The story of our Christmas 2020 film
It’s been a tough year, but through it all a community of makers across the UK have kept going – stitching, turning, moulding, carving, painting, knitting, sculpting, printing, fusing, forging and crafting to bring the joy to Christmas 2020.
We wanted to celebrate them all with a film that shows the love, care, passion and craftsmanship that goes into every handmade present.
With Covid restrictions in place that wasn’t easy. Not to be defeated by a pandemic, we put a call-out to all our makers, asking for their help… and the films started to come rolling in. Each time a new one arrived, we felt a surge of delight and pride in our incredible community and we became determined to squeeze as many as possibly into the final cut. The last scene is a collection of all those many hands, coming together to make this Christmas even more special.
So here’s to the makers making Christmas!
We hope you love it as much as we do. Watch it here…

Hi Camilla
Just wanted to say we love the Makers film, can just see our hands at the end…. Our 15 mins of fame!!
This will be our first Christmas with Folksy and we’re working really hard to get the word out. Its been a crash course in using social media and making a video but everyday we learn something new. We love what we do – there’s no better feeling than making something in the workshop and then wrapping it up because someone bought it….. Happy dance time!
Thanks for the challenge…
Jackie & Steve
