One of the most fun (and frankly a little crazy!) parts of the Folksy Christmas Market in December were the live shopping events we did on Strykin. So we thought we’d do it again for Mother’s Day, but this time open it up to all Folksy sellers, and hopefully hand over the hosting reins to you too!

How the live shopping events work
We’re hoping to run a series of live shopping events leading up to Mother’s Day, depending on the demand, with four sellers in each session. They will be hosted live on Strykin and people will be able to buy your products on Strykin during the event, while you are showing them and talking about them – QVC style!
The live shopping sessions will take place between 15th February and 10th March. Each one will be around one hour long, probably from 8-9pm, either during the week or at the weekends. Dates and times are yet to be confirmed.
To take part as a seller, you will need to be confident using Instagram and going live (the events are recorded live on Instagram but streamed on Strykin), and although we can’t guarantee everyone a spot, we will try to fit in as many people as we can.
You will need to upload a selection of your products to Strykin before the event (we’ll give you advice on what kind of products and price ranges work well) and all orders will go through Strykin (not Folksy) who will charge commission on sales plus card processing fees.
You don’t have to have huge quantities of a product to take part. It’s fine to offer a limited number of products from your range (eg 10 x hand-printed Mother’s Day cards, 6 x Primrose lino prints, 3 x personalised cards), special bundles, or individual one-off products during the live shopping events.
The dates for the live shopping events are yet to be confirmed, but the deadline signing up is Sunday 7 February. So if you’re interested, put your name down and we will send you more details of what’s involved. There will be lots of support and tips available before the event, so you won’t feel like you’ve been thrown in at the deep end!!
