How to join our Shop Early for Christmas 2024 shopping event
Following on from the success of our first ‘Shop Early for Christmas’ event last year, we’re doing it again for 2024! This time around, instead of taking place over one weekend, we’re running it for the whole of October – giving people even more chance to shop early, shop well and shop handmade this season!
How to take part as a seller
- You will need an active Folksy Plus account to take part (become a Folksy Plus member here).
- Choose which items you would like to include in the event. We recommend choosing a selection of:
– your bestselling products that are particularly giftable
– seasonal pieces that would make perfect Christmas presents
– Christmas decorations
– Christmas wrapping
– Christmas cards - Add the tag “shopearly2024” to these listings on Folksy (without the quotation marks – find more info about tags here).
- You don’t need to offer a discount or promotion to take part.
- You can tag as many listings as you like but the event page will only show three items from each shop at a time. This is intended to make it easier for buyers to see a wide range of items from a range of different sellers. If you have tagged multiple items and one sells out, the page will automatically pull in the next product tagged in the order it is listed in your shop.
- We recommend updating your shop every few days during the event so that different pieces are shown on the event page. This helps keep the event looking fresh and offers you the opportunity to showcase different items to customers. You can do this by rearranging the order of the products in your shop using the Shopkeeping feature. The changes will be visible when the event page updates.
- Use these free Canva templates to customise your own promotional images and find ready-made graphics you can share across social media channels.
- Share your Christmas gift ideas on social media using the hashtags #folksy #shopearly2024 and #shopearlyfolksy2024
The event will feature on the Folksy homepage throughout October, so it’s a great opportunity to get your work in front of potential customers and secure orders early in the Christmas shopping period.
