Christmas Craft Drop – September 16th 2025

by Felicity Forster

Join us to celebrate 100 days until Christmas with the first ever Folksy Christmas Craft Drop

It’s great to get Christmas items out early to help get press, but if you’re not ready yet, don’t worry! We’ve got another Christmas promoting opportunity coming up…

We all love that magical feeling when you discover the perfect thing – a new maker, a gorgeous handmade decoration, a unique gift – especially when it comes to Christmas. So we thought… what if we brought all those magical discoveries together in one festive launch? That’s exactly what we’re doing with the Folksy Christmas Craft Drop.

On Tuesday 16th September 2025 – exactly 100 days until Christmas – Folksy sellers will launch a flurry of brand new festive products and gift ideas. The concept is that Folksy sellers come together to launch their products at the same time, in one spectacular online drop of new original art, craft and design well in advance of the biggest shopping season.

From decorations and stocking fillers to cosy knits, festive tableware, jewellery, and gifts you won’t find anywhere else – it will be a Christmas shopping treat like no other.

And this year, the celebration lasts even longer – the collection will be showcased on the Folksy homepage and shouted about across our marketing channels for the entire week following the drop.

📣 How to help promote the Christmas Craft Drop?

A hundred voices are louder than one – and together we can make this the shopping event everyone’s talking about. The more we all share, the more people will discover it (and your lovely new products!). So in the run-up to the drop, post about your new pieces on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok – wherever your customers are – using the hashtag #folksychristmascraftdrop. Share behind-the-scenes snaps, teaser videos, and stories about what inspired your designs. Tag Folksy so we can repost, and encourage your followers to sign up to the newsletter for the early preview. Every post helps spread the word and bring more shoppers to the event.

Launch day is all about keeping the buzz going! On Tuesday 16th September, share your new products – post them on your social feeds, pop them in your stories, and link to the event page in your bio or posts. Use #folksychristmascraftdrop so shoppers can explore everyone’s launches in one place.
Throughout the day, keep the excitement building by:

  • Posting extra photos or videos of your products being made or packaged.
  • Reposting other makers’ launches you love (they might return the favour!).
  • Sharing customer comments or messages as they come in.
  • Reminding your followers that it’s 100 days until Christmas and this is the perfect time to shop handmade gifts.

The more noise we make together, the more shoppers will join in – so let’s fill social media with a slice of handmade early festive cheer!

FAQs

Should I list in advance or on the day?
We recommend creating listings in advance and saving them as drafts. You can then publish them on the 15th September for the newsletter preview or on the 16th

Does everything I list need to be Christmas-themed?
Not at all – gifts of all kinds are welcome. But to make the most of the event, we recommend listing pieces that will appeal to early Christmas shoppers.

How will my items be displayed?
To give buyers variety, we may limit the event so that only a certain number of items from each shop appear at once. If an item sells out, the next tagged product in your shop will automatically appear.
