💡 What is the Folksy Referral Reward Scheme?
Our Referral Reward Scheme saves you 50% of your Folksy commission (from 6% down to just 3%) whenever a customer makes a purchase from your shop within 30 days of clicking on your unique referral link.
That means if you bring a buyer to your shop – whether it’s their first order or their 40th – you get rewarded for that sale!
🧵 How it works
- Every Folksy seller has a unique referral link, but only Plus sellers can earn the reduced 3% commission.
- When a customer clicks on your link, a small cookie tracks that visit for 30 days.
- If they buy from your shop during that window, your commission on that order is automatically halved – you’ll see it applied right away on the order and in your billing statement.
Example:
You share your Folksy shop link on your Instagram bio. Someone clicks it, browses your lovely collection, and buys one of your hand-thrown mugs later that day. Because that sale came through your unique referral link, your commission is just 3% – simple as that!
🔗 Where to find your referral links
You can find your unique links in two places:
- On your shop page – for a link that tracks all sales from your shop (this code is formatted like this: https://folksy.com/find/shop/[shopname])
- On each item page – for links specific to that product (this code is formatted like this: https://folksy.com/l/item/[productname])
Once you’re logged into your shop, just look for the “Your Referral Reward link” section at the top of the shop or item page and click to copy.
📣 Ways to share your link
There are loads of ways to put your referral link to work:
- Add it to your Instagram bio or Facebook page
- Include it in your email signature
- Share it in your newsletter or blog posts
- Use it in Pinterest pins, Linktree, or anywhere you promote your shop online
Every time someone clicks through one of these and buys from you within 30 days, your Referral Reward kicks in!
🧾 Seeing your reduced commission
You’ll see your Referral Reward applied automatically when the qualifying sale happens. The reduction shows clearly on your billing statement, so you can easily keep track of your rewarded sales.
🍪 A quick note about cookies
Folksy’s Referral Reward relies on cookies to track visits. If a customer doesn’t accept cookies or clears them while browsing, the purchase might not be tracked – and the reduction may not apply.

No, the reward only applies to sales made through your own Folksy shop.
Is this a permanent feature?
Yes, we are delighted to share this is now a permanent benefit of being a Plus member.
What happens if I change my links as a Plus member, but then later down the line I stop my Plus membership?
If you start sharing your magic links when you’re Plus and then return to basic, you won’t need to update the links. They will still take people to your items/shop, you just won’t get the reduced commission applied if you’re not currently Plus.
