Say “I Do” to The Folksy Wedding Fair – And Open Your Shop to a Whole New Market
Following the success of last year’s event, this May we’re bringing you The Folksy Wedding Fair once again, and we’d love you to be part of it.
Many of our makers tell us they’re looking for ways to stand out, attract new customers, and keep their sales moving throughout the year. The Folksy Wedding Fair is designed to do just that – a chance to showcase your shop at its finest, celebrate your handmade creations, and introduce your work to a whole new audience..
Why Weddings?
Weddings are one of the biggest life events people plan for – and with that comes a lot of shopping. From decorations and stationery to thoughtful gifts, guest outfits, jewellery and keepsakes – the opportunities for makers like you are huge.
Entering the world of weddings is a brilliant way to:
- Open up your business to new customers
- Flatten seasonality (and make quieter months feel less quiet!)
- Spark product development ideas for your range
- Get featured in our social, email and editorial campaigns
We’re positioning Folksy as the place for beautifully crafted wedding gifts and essentials that are far more personal and meaningful than anything mass-made.
What is The Folksy Wedding Fair?
For one week in May, we’ll be celebrating all things wedding across Folksy – with curated collections, social media features, email marketing, blog posts, gift guides and more. We’re shining a spotlight on our makers and showing couples and guests alike just how special handmade can be.
Whether you sell delicate jewellery, hand-thrown ceramics, botanical prints, dried flower crowns, or embroidered handkerchiefs – if it would make someone’s big day a little more beautiful, there’s a place for it in The Folksy Wedding Fair.
How to get involved
Getting involved is easy – and we’ve made it even easier with templates you can use and helpful tags to boost your visibility:
** Exclusive features for Folksy Plus makers **
While all makers can promote their wedding-related products during The Folksy Wedding Fair, participate in social media events, and benefit from the increased marketing push, there are exclusive perks for Folksy Plus sellers that make being part of this campaign a real opportunity for extra visibility and sales.
For example, every Plus maker who tags their wedding related products correctly will automatically be included in our headline event collection, “The Folksy Wedding Fair Showcase,” as well as in “Top Picks” collections across different sections of the campaign. These collections will be featured on the site, linked from our social media channels, and highlighted in email newsletters, giving Plus sellers targeted exposure to thousands of engaged buyers.
1. Upload your wedding-worthy products
Upload any products in your shop that would make great wedding gifts or are perfect for the big day. Think:
- Wedding or engagement gifts
- Bridal accessories
- Bridesmaid or groomsmen presents
- Wedding or event jewellery
- Wedding decor or signage
- Tableware and styling
- Outfits for guests
- Cards, invites and stationery
- Homewares for newlyweds
2. Use wedding-related tags
The main tag for the event is ‘Folksy Weddings 26’ – using this tag will guarantee your products are included in the “The Folksy Wedding Fair Showcase” collection for Plus sellers.
On top of this though we recommend making sure your items can be found for shoppers browsing weddings tags! Use relevant tags like: wedding, wedding gift, bridal, engagement, wedding guest, bridesmaid gift, folksy wedding fair, alternative wedding, something blue, rustic wedding, etc.
3. Shout about it on social

We’ve created a set of editable Instagram templates on Canva you can drop your products into to help you promote your pieces as part of the Folksy Wedding Fair. Share your stories, your inspiration and your favourite picks using the hashtag #FolksyWeddingFair – and don’t forget to tag us so we can repost and feature you!
4. Engage with us in our Themes Of The Day during the week of the Folksy Wedding Fair
As part of The Folksy Wedding Fair marketing activity, we’ve included a solid week of wedding themes to give even more opportunities for your products to be seen. If you have items that fit the theme make sure to tag them accordingly. As you may already know, this gives your products the opportunity to potentially be featured on the homepage under the ‘Theme of the Day’ section. It’s a great extra opportunity to get your work in front of shoppers looking for something special for weddings this season! .
- Monday 18th May – Bridal Style (tag: bridal)
- Tuesday 19th May – Wedding Decor (tag: wedding decor)
- Wednesday 20th May – Wedding Presents (tag: wedding present)
- Thursday 21st May – Wedding Guest Accessories (tag: wedding guest)
- Friday 22nd May – Something Blue (tag: something blue)
- Saturday 23rd May – Chelsea Wedding Fair (tag: wedding flowers)
- Sunday 24th May – Wedding Cards (tag: wedding card)
To have your item included in a theme, simply add the tag for that day to your listing, exactly as written in this list.
5. Take part in Folksy Friday on 22nd May
For Folksy Friday during our Wedding Fair, we’ll be asking all our makers to pick eight of their favourite wedding finds and share them across social media. These could be eight gift ideas, eight bridal accessories, eight decor touches – or even eight hats! (Or a mix of all of the above.)
The aim of the day is to showcase the incredible variety of handmade wedding treasures available on Folksy, giving all of our combined communities a chance to discover and be inspired by your creations.
Whether you already sell wedding-related pieces or this gives you a new idea to explore, we’d love you to take part. Let’s show couples that meaningful weddings start with handmade – and that Folksy is the place to find it all.
