Digital Marketer – Maternity Cover (6 months)

April – September/October 2022

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated person to join our small team as maternity cover for our Digital Marketer.

Working closely with our Content Lead, the successful person will create and manage content across our social media platforms, to help increase brand awareness, drive engagement and reach among new and existing audiences, with the aim of creating conversion to follow and buy from social channels.

It’s an exciting time to be involved with Folksy. We’re growing as a business and the e-commerce industry and independent retail is rapidly changing. You’ll be a key member of our small 6-person team, working to help support the marketing of the platform as we improve it. 

We are looking for someone creative, with strong copywriting and visual storytelling skills, who understands social media and has experience of creating mobile-first video content. 

What the job is

Digital Marketer – Maternity Cover (6 months)

Digital marketers are… 

  • Strategic thinkers: identifying trends and stories and working out if and how Folksy could engage with them
  • Content producers: having a creative approach to producing content – you know what looks ‘try hard’ and what feels natural 
  • Problem solvers: you have an analytical approach to understanding what works to engage people and why (you may not use insight and analytic tools but you have a desire to know why some content is more effective at converting people)
  • Clear communicators: you have an ability to communicate clearly and simply 

Some of the things you’d be doing include…

  • Creating and managing an engaging content schedule across our social media platforms
  • Responding with users to encourage engagement
  • Developing content and campaigns to use for marketing purposes
  • Providing evidence of marketing campaign performance (using social media analytics and analysis tools, eg Google Analytics)
  • Planning and delivering campaigns across different channels
  • Other general administrative tasks, such as social channel maintenance (eg links in bio, Instagram Story highlights, account following, hashtag research and monitoring), and responding to customer queries in DMs and comments.

Salary and benefits

We offer 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. 

The salary is £23,000, dependent on experience. A training budget of £500 is available for this contract. 

This is a Fixed Term contract for Maternity Cover, which is full time 40 hours per week, though we offer flexible working hours and would consider part-time working. We know not everyone wants to, or is able to work full-time. 

Location

This role will be done remotely, so you can be based anywhere in the UK.

You may need to travel for work occasionally.
