Weeknote #270

by jamesthree

Hello, I’m another James (a.k.a. James 3 or James the Third. We know a lot of James’s here at Folksy HQ!). I’ve been helping out over the last few months developing new features and making improvements to the code that runs Folksy. Along with the new messaging system, I’ve spent a lot of my time here working on the brand new shop pages we launched last week.

This week we’ve been combing through the feedback from the sellers who have the new shop pages and working out how we can make them even better. Feedback on the design of the new shops has been really positive so we’ve been spending time ironing out the bugs and focusing on making managing shops as easy as we can. We’re really grateful to the sellers that have trusted us to trial the new designs on their shop pages and we’re excited about rolling it out to everyone else (soon! soon!).

I’ve also been working on the new My Folksy feature. It’s a bit of an experiment. Quite simply, we’re trying to show you fresh items from sellers that you like. We’ll be playing around with it over the next few weeks and adding more ways for you to find interesting items and new sellers. We’ve been using it in the Folksy offices and we think it’s rather good (not wanting to blow our own trumpets, of course…)

Unfortunately, this is also a (hopefully temporary) goodbye from me as this will be my last week with Folksy for the time being.

Over and out!
