Oh fingers crossed I could do with more careful planning.
Experiencing tough Christmas sales season this year I decided to expand to other websites (also starting my own) so not all of my eggs are in one basket like they used to be. This would need lots of planning, time and knowledge. I need to improve in SEO as well!
Fingers crossed for the win! X
I plan to branch out from a pretty successful Facebook page and have my own website and possible other selling platforms…. I’ve built up a very supportive 1k+ customer base (no like for likes etc. All my followers are my own customers or word by mouth) over four years and I’m excited to plan my time in 2018 and extend this.
Such a useful resource – I love wading through the design trust blog posts so a planner would be super helpful!
I would love the wall planner with names of all craft events in the uk, that would be so helpful! Fingers crossed :)
I have so many plans that I need to consolidate in 2018! Apart from creating a new product collection, my main goal is to get a website built and a content plan together. To avoid the many distractions of a new business, planning tools would really help!!
Would be great to win so I can be more organised & focused at increasing my sales online
September 2017 has seen the return of my business, different products and new ideas I have been trying my best without much success, I’ve been to the Google Digital Garage for help using their services as a group and 1 to 1, I feel I have more underestanding but still only a handful of sales, I have started my own web site and feel that I’m on the computer more than actually making anything. I need help to plan and grow my business.
I’ve just been looking into planners to help me get my jewellery business more organised for next year, and so far the Dream, Plan, Do journal is at the top of my list! I need something to keep me on track and not just flitting about randomly between jobs I need to do, and I think a journal is a good place to start with that.
I’d love to put the ideas that I’ve been brewing while looking after my daughters into practice and finally get a great new product line of illustrated gifts and cards created.
Brilliant competition… keeping my fingers crossed!
My sales have declined over last couple of years and this post has really made me think about getting organised and doing something about it
Looking forward to seeing who wins!
I could really do with some guidance, so this would help massively! In particular, I’d like to understand all the available selling platforms more fully, including the costs and incentives for each.
This is such an amazing prize, something that would mean so much to me. I’e come back to crafting after being in hospital and would love for someone to take me seriously and bring my stuff to the next level, but I don’t know how or have the confidence.
Whoever wins – I wish them the very best.
I’m currently designing and making a diverse range of products in glass, porcelain, anodised aluminum and silver jewellery, each of which could be individual businesses. I’m needing to decide on either one direction into a more coherent collection under a single banner or several separate directions for my businesses. And there is only one of me, so I also need to be realistic with my time and efforts. Needing help to steer me forwards!
What an amazing competition! Keeping everything crossed for this and 2018, I have such high hopes!
Oh, I need one of these! :)
Oooh keeping everything crossed, this sounds like a fantastic resource to help me with my business planning :)
I have done a short Design Trust exercise earlier this year, from a link I was alerted to via Facebook. It was really helpful to make to really sit down and work out what my vision and story was, and to make me think who I was directing my efforts at (in fact, I think I will read it through again now it’s at the end of the year, very useful again). It would be great to have a structured plan to use for 2018 as I have many plans and ideas to put into action!
A great competition to win valuable info from someone that really knows what they are doing when it comes to small creative businesses.
What a brilliant prize! Definitely a great resource for small businesses.
It’s with great excitement that in 2018 I’ll open my online shop Northern Bird Designs and pursue licensing deals for pattern design. I’ve always been drawn to a creative career, feeling unfulfilled without that daily dose of art. I’m keen to establish my style and pursue design as a career whilst awaiting diagnosis for chronic illness. Creating art has provided relief from daily pain but it also thrills me to see others enjoying my work and brightening their days too.
I will be exhibiting at my first trade fair in 2018, this planner will be so useful for helping me plan & organise myself before and after the fair!
What a valuable competition prize. As I have only been selling my turnings since October I am experiencing a very steep learning curve at the moment. It’s easy to get pushed off course and distracted. This kind of focus is just what I need.
An attractive offer, no doubt very competitive but we would benefit from your advice, and look forward to being given that chance.
I am exhibiting at my first trade fair in 2018 so this would really help me plan and organise myself before and after the show.
Such an exciting giveaway, and will make a fabulous Christmas pressie too!
Excellent prize. I have come across the advice and support of Patricia and the Design Trust a number of times over the last year and have always found it extremely beneficial. I think this prize would give amazing structured support for 2018 and the winner will be very lucky.
Wow! Thank you to everyone who entered this competition and a huge thanks to Patricia at The Design Trust for offering such an incredible prize. We had LOADS of entries so it was tricky to choose, but the winning entry came from Charlotte Hupfield from Charlotte Hupfield Ceramics. The three runner-ups were Eleanor from Jewellery Boat, Anne Donovan and Bryony Crane. Congratulations to you all – we hope you enjoy your prizes and that your creative businesses thrive in 2018!
